The bass bares his likeness as it's logo. As of 2014, the makers of the bass were forced by the "Fender" company to change the name due to a name conflict with their "Bassman" amps. The new bass is now called an "Aveton Bass."
Available Soon
Lamont is the first fretless bassist to gain recognition in R&B music. Here, he's playing a fretless P bass with the group, "Nite Flyt" in the mountains of Connecticut (1979.)

I was quite excited during this photo session. I found it to be very creatively done. The sun within the background, was a large light that lit up every time the camera flashed. The giant imitation rock that represented a mountain top was a prop right out of a Hollywood setting (why not? We were in Hollywood.) The smoke machine representing clouds moistened my boots and made the soles slippery (I was worried about slipping off the “rock”.) To top it off, there was this giant fan used to blow the manuscript off the music stand. What an experience!!
Available Soon this Summer 2014
Year 1982, Lamont played a bass solo in the city of Ann Arbor, Michigan to a bunch of rowdy listeners after a U of M vs. MSU football game. U of M had won the game. It was a U of M home game in Ann Arbor. There football team was on fire, as was I....... Need I say more?
I was an original member of "The Fifth Revelation." Chuck Overton's "brain child" prior to "Brainstorm."
Check out my Obi Wan Kenobi look (smile)................. This was before Star Wars!!!!!
What great use of aluminum foil. (smile)....................... The 70's were the bomb!!!!!
This material was so shiny. Every time the lights changed, the fabric would change colors. "Brainstorm" was a nine piece band. I'll never forget the night we all hit the stage with our specially made garments, all made with this material. The looks on the faces of the audience was priceless.
This photo was taken at Axles Lounge, after a "Rapture" band performance.
Lee introduced "Brainstorm" to Clarence Avant, "Tabu Records."
If only I could fit in that T-Shirt again. (smile)
This was an advertisement of one of "Brainstorms" first performances after recording their debut album, entitled, "Stormin'." Willie, Keyboardist (the guy at the top), is not that tall (smile)
"Brainstorm" had all their stage wear specially made. I always wore robes on stage. This particular one is a photo of a beautiful royal blue.
This was one of "Brainstorm's" first photo sessions before showing their true colors. (smile)
This photo was taken at the Belle Isle Conservatory.
From left to right: David Miles, Guitarist, left the band before the first album was recorded. He chose not to stay to pursue further academic studies. Robert Ross, now resides in San Francisco. He is a well known producer, pianist, vocalist, with products available over the internet.
